Steam and configured apps
Polaris keeps the configured app identity and launch command. A title can use provider artwork without changing how it launches.
Polaris owns the host Library. Nova presents that Library on Android and keeps each title’s launch choices, artwork, and home-screen shortcut attached to its canonical app identity. Two entries with the same display name do not become the same game.

Heroic GOG and Epic
Polaris 1.4.0 imports native and Flatpak Heroic entries with the matching store, runner, installation, and app identity. Refresh the host Library after Heroic installs or removes a title.
Built-in utilities
Entries such as Virtual Display use artwork shipped by Polaris. They do not automatically search game providers and inherit an unrelated game cover.
Manual curation
A choice made in Artwork Studio wins over automatic and built-in matching until the player clears or replaces that custom match.
Non-Steam provider searches require a SteamGridDB API key configured in Polaris. The key enables search; it does not change the game’s launch identity or command.
Nova’s Pin to Home Screen action uses the artwork currently selected for that game. The action reports Pending and Pinned state rather than presenting every tap as a new request. Changing Library artwork does not change the game identity; repin the shortcut when you want Android’s launcher copy refreshed.
Reset Game Profile is for the title’s launch preferences. Artwork curation and home-screen pinning have their own explicit actions so a launch reset does not silently become a Library cleanup operation.
